Welcome to Ginsberg Recordings

Ginsberg Recordings the home of the record label which seeks to keep all of Allen Ginsberg‘s official releases continuously available, as well as introducing exciting new collections & collaborations. This is also a site for fans to discover and explore lesser-known audio that may perhaps not be suited to formal release but is still of great interest to those looking to dig further.

Over Ginsberg’s 40-year career, countless recordings were made, many of which reside in his voluminous archives at Stanford University in obsolete or difficult-to-access formats. As these get digitally converted, we will profile and present them here. Where we can’t present the materiel ourselves, we will happily alert users to the growing number of excellent online databases, such as or the poetry-specific PennSound, to name just two. Join us in an unparalleled sonic adventure.
